What is the Empore 384 tips?

The Empore 384 tips contains 384 StageTips per tray (×2 trays per pack). It is a 100 µL, 2-layer format available in all 30+ Empore sorbent chemistries. Designed for labs processing large sample batches, it offers lower per-tip costs and is compatible with multichannel pipettes and automation workflows.

How many layers should i use?

Standard 2-layer tips work for most desalting. Use more layers for higher binding capacity — when processing >20 µg peptide or dilute samples. C18-HD is available in 2, 3, 4, and 6 layers; SDB-XC and SDB-RPS are available in 2, 4, and 6 layers.

Can I use StageTips for fractionation>

Yes. Use SCX or SAX for ion exchange fractionation, or SDB-RPS for high-pH reverse phase fractionation. Multi-layer configurations like C18/SCX/C18 enable integrated desalting + fractionation in one tip. Our data shows 53% more peptide IDs after high-pH fractionation.
