8270 Sorbent Disk
Price
$362.79

Empore™ 8270 Extraction Disk — validated for U.S. EPA Method 8270E semi-volatile organic compound (SVOC) analysis in aqueous samples. Particle-loaded PTFE membrane technology delivers fast flow rates, easy reverse elution, and shorter drying times compared with traditional cartridge SPE.

Compliant with EPA methods:

  • EPA Method 8270E (using SPE per companion Method 3535)

Best for:

  • Quantitative extraction of 125+ neutral, acidic, and basic SVOCs from water
  • Wastewater, drinking water, groundwater, and leachate analysis
  • Compound classes including PAHs, phthalate esters, organophosphate esters, nitrosamines, chlorinated hydrocarbons, pesticides, haloethers, anilines, pyridines, quinolines, nitroaromatics, and phenols
  • Laboratories needing EPA-compliant SVOC workflows with reduced solvent consumption

Validated performance: Most of 125 tested SVOCs achieved recovery >75% with RSD <15% (250 mL water, 20 ppb, n=3). Read the full application note →

Recommended Workflow

For optimal recovery across the full SVOC range, the 8270 Disk is used as a composite disk stack with two Empore™ Activated Carbon Disks:

  • 8270 Disk on top — retains target SVOCs
  • 2× Activated Carbon Disks below — captures polar and reactive compounds

After loading the acidified water sample, the stack is dried, inverted, and reverse-eluted with DCM/methanol (acidic/neutral fraction) followed by DCM/methanolic ammonia (basic fraction).
